Labour Day is more than just a date on the calendar; it’s a heartfelt tribute to the tireless individuals who work behind the scenes, often unnoticed, to keep our institutions running smoothly. At GDGPSS, the Labour Day celebration for the academic year 2025–26 was meticulously planned to honour and appreciate every member of the support staff.

 

A Thoughtful Celebration Across Departments

 

1. School Didis and Peons - With a strength of 32, the school didis and peons  celebrated the day  with the students of the UKG class at 11:00 AM in the Manthan venue, where they gifted umbrellas.

 

2. Security Staff - The 15-member security team were honoured by the LKG students, who presented them with umbrellas, ensuring they stay protected in all weather.

 

3. Sweepers - A total of 15 sweepers were felicitated by the Nursery class. The gift distribution included 3 raincoats for male staff and 12 umbrellas for female staff, showcasing the school’s thoughtful gender-specific planning.

 

4. Drivers and Dajus - This large group of 90 staff members were honoured by students of Class 1 and 2 along with 15 students from the Commerce Department. The ceremony was scheduled at 12 Noon at the New Building parking area, where raincoats were distributed.

 

5. Hostel Didis (Morning Shift) - The 26 hostel didis from the morning shift  celebrated with 20 students from the Science Department and Class 3, and the event took place at 2:00 PM in Manthan. They received umbrellas.

 

6. Technical and Maintenance Staff - A total of 16 staff members including the laundry personnel, electricians, AC technicians, plumbers, carpenters, and gardeners were given raincoats in appreciation of their invaluable support.

 

7. Kitchen Staff - The kitchen team comprising 60 staff members were honoured with 15 raincoats for male staff and 45 umbrellas for female staff, once again reflecting the school’s thoughtful attention to detail.

 

Building a Culture of Gratitude

 

This planned celebration demonstrates the school’s commitment to creating a culture of gratitude and respect. By involving students from every stage—Nursery to Higher Secondary, the school is also instilling the values of humility, recognition, and teamwork in its learners.
