GD Goenka Public School, Siliguri hosted a blessing-cum-farewell ceremony for the outgoing Class XII batch of 2022-23 on 9th February, 2023. The students of Class XI organised the event in unison to bid a lively and joyful farewell to their lovely seniors.

 

The Blessing ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our honourable Director Principal Ma'am along with the teachers and some students of Class XII. This was followed by the prayer and thought provoking speech by our Vice Principal Ma'am. A video depicting the long and rich journey of the outgoing class was played which created an air of nostalgia. This was followed by the distribution of mementos by all the teaching faculty of the senior secondary section.

 

The Farewell ceremony proceeded immediately after the Blessing ceremony. The students of class XI pepped up the mood with their enthralling performances. There was a spate of dance, music and laughter as the hosts impressed with the showcasing of their vast repository of skills. Prestigious titles were conferred on the students for being unique in their own way throughout their tenure in school. The outgoing students made nostalgic speeches which made the entire atmosphere emotional filled with an immense sense of gratitude towards the school. Once again, a video poignantly portraying all the cherished memories of the students along with a series of recorded messages and the shower of blessings by the teachers was presented. The live performance of the school's musical band marked the ending of the event. The ceremony concluded with a message by the Class XI student who articulated their sorrow at seeing their seniors leave and hoped that their paths would cross over in the near future. Finally, a photo session of all the outgoing students with their class teachers was done. The Adieu ceremony was a blend of bittersweet and stirring emotions.
