GLEE & GOOGLE - THE PRE PRIMARY SECTION
According to noted author Richard Louv, "Today's children are living a childhood of firsts. They are the first truly multicultural generation, and the first to grow up in an electronic bubble, an environment shaped by computers." Undoubtedly, children today are more focused, purposeful, aware, and mature for their age.
At GD Goenka School, Siliguri, we strive to create an environment where children are encouraged to explore, investigate, and experience the intrinsic joy of learning. Our dedicated teachers continually shape the curriculum to develop students' ability to think critically, observe closely, experiment freely, and ask meaningful questions, imbuing skills that will empower them for life.

Activities
We believe in exposing children to different cultures at the early age so that they can start learning and appreciating the value of a culture. It is our aim to strike a balance between introducing children to a global outlook and teaching them about the Indian culture. The school emphasizes on communicating different culture both implicitly and explicitly. We celebrate different festivals to spread the message of brotherhood and harmony among our tiny tots. Dusshera, Diwali, Eid, Christmas etc are celebrated innovatively with great pomp and gaiety.
Curriculum and Teaching Methodology
Glee and Google, the Pre Primary Section, is a conducive and encouraging space which provides the little ones multiple learning environments where children develop the skills and knowledge that will have a great impact on the aptitude and attitude of the child later in life. Learning, in Glee and Google, is a joyful, motivating, fun, and engaging exploration that opens up a world of wonder for young children where their curiosity and personal interests can flourish. With developmentally appropriate and child-initiated experiences, each child may develop, at their own pace, their knowledge and skills, leading to an increasing understanding of themselves and the world around them.
THE PRIMARY SECTION
Who we are?
The Primary Section plays a vital role in a child’s overall development. In today's fast-paced and ever-evolving world, it is often the youngest learners who risk being left behind. GDGSS aims to provide the very best for the children. As future leaders, they deserve to be nurtured, guided, and supported as they move closer to achieving their dreams.
The section covers Classes III to V, serving children ages 6 to 10. We believe that raising a child is a shared responsibility and a true team effort. With the right support, every child can learn, grow, and flourish. Parents and caregivers are the most influential partners in this journey, and together with our dedicated educators, they form the Goenkan team.

Curriculum and Teaching Methodology
At GDGSS, our Primary Curriculum emphasises strong conceptual learning, where the skills acquired in earlier years are put into practice. Covering Classes III to V, this stage serves as a bridge between foundational learning and future career-building, laying the groundwork for students to pursue their dreams.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to focus on application-based learning, ensuring that concepts in subjects like Math, Science, English, and Computer Science are understood through practical, hands-on methods. With innovative teaching strategies, creative activities, and visually rich textbooks, we make learning engaging, effective, and memorable.

The Secondary Section at GDGPS is student centric and entails to promote academic, social, physical and personal growth. We encourage the learners to be original thinkers, self-disciplined and environment conscious. The flexibility in the curriculum is still maintained while simultaneously training learning to work within time-frames. The process of learning is made active, dynamic and enjoyable keeping in mind that students have different learning styles and academic abilities. At this level, we prepare the learners to explore further and nurture them to be technically proficient problem solvers and career minded.
