“The most important outcome of education is help students become independent of formal
education." -
For Boarding students the Hostel warden/Matron/Asst Matron is the effective guardian caring for each group of students. S/he regularly inspects the bedrooms and studies, and checks on the student's diet, personal hygiene, skin and hair care, the availability of toiletries and the condition of clothes. S/he liaises closely with the academic staff to monitor the quality of students' prep and other academic work. Most important of all, the House Parents carry a major responsibility for the happiness and integration of students and for keeping in close touch with the parents by email or other means.
* Every student is cared for by a House Parent whose first concern is to get to know him or her as an individual
whose talents and interests can be stimulated and developed.
* Each student's social and academic progress is carefully monitored and reported to parents.
* House Parents are supported by an extended medical and housekeeping team.
* All students participate in a programme of Personal Social and Health Education
devised and co-
Director of Guidance who also gives personal and academic counselling to individual students.
PHONE CALLS WILL BE DONE FROM SCHOOL EVERY FORTNIGHT
- Except on the above mentioned days and timings you will not be allowed to talk to your ward. Parents are informed that the school has a calendar and as per the calendar every month we are allowing the child to meet the parents or the local guardians. As such we request the parents not to visit the school except on the outing dates given in the calendar.
- Any complaints or suggestions or any discussion with the Head of Boarding/ Hostel Warden etc. can be done over the phone only between 2pm to 4pm. If the complaints are in written form it will be appreciated. You can send the mails to hostel@gdgoenkaschool.in for anything related to Hostel.
- We would also like to inform the parents that the time for outings mentioned in the calendar and the outing dates are strictly followed. Deviation from the dates disturbs the routine of the school and the hostel.
- Students are not allowed to bring any eatables, games, sports, musical instruments, money etc to the hostel, so parents are requested not to give the above mentioned items to their wards.
- Any guardians visiting any students should be a registered guardian, or else he should be carrying an authorization letter of which the head of boarding should have a prior information.
- Parents are requested not to visit the hostel as the outsiders are not allowed in the hostel. Any parents or guardians visiting their wards are strictly prohibited from letting any other student make calls from their phones.
