The major aim of education today is to arm each and every student so as to make them walk their own will in the future ahead. Going to school day in and day out just to wholeheartedly understand what is imparted in one’s text book is a waste of time if that particular ‘one’ is not made aware of his or her self, of his or hers personality, shortcomings and drawbacks and his or hers  proficiency, capabilities  and thorough strong-points. The most important goal of a wholesome education is to make each and every individual aware of his or hers personal qualities and to recognize the need and the way to make the best use of it, as and when there arises an opportunity.  

GDGPS has been, over the years, concerned regarding imparting an industry or need based, in a wider context, education to all its students, since it is the foremost demand of the present day professionalism. Ergo, in order to be able to carry out this particular endeavor with more ease, better assessment and more fluency in the assignment of the right individual into the right category as per the interest, enthusiasm, the characteristic, the intellect and application, and the limitation of each and every member of the student body.

The focal objective of the Career counseling sessions, held at GDGPS, is to help its student know and be on familiar terms with their own arm-span and the ways to develop and increase their personal  natural as well as acquired qualifications. It is indeed a well known fact that many a fledglings, despite having fully grown wings, collapse onto the ground beneath while trying to leap out of its mother’s nest, into its maiden flight. They have wings no doubt but that is not enough. The wings can function only if there is wind: wind towards the right direction, also with the perfect momentum of flow and the just the right level of pressure. Without the conditions being thoroughly satisfied, having wings is as bad as having none. We, here at GDGPSS, aspire to be “the wind beneath the wings” of each and every student who will walk out of our portals and into the threshold of the big, brazen and banal, mighty world!

Career Counselling Cell provides guidance and career education to enable students to make informed decisions about their future pathways. Our aim is to ensure every student makes an effective transition to the world of work and training.

Career counselling include: 

• Facilitating students’ career decision-making through individual and group counselling.
• Providing career education programmes that give students the knowledge and skills to self-manage their careers throughout their lives. 
• Supporting staff and curriculum areas by providing special opportunities and specialist speakers to provide links between academic courses and real life situations.
• Co-ordinating trips and activities, such as visits to income tax office, etc.
• Organising career opportunities for students, such as work experience and vocational courses. 
• Conducting Standardised Aptitude Tests to understand the potential of the child and guide him/her accordingly.
