The students of G.D. Goenka Public School appeared for the selection of District Basketball team on 2nd Aug, 2013. Out of 10 boys 4 were selected and out of 15 , 10 girls were selected for the District Team representing Siliguri in the Junior State Level Basketball Tournament 2013 at Burrabazar, Kolkata.
The tournament started from 10th Aug 2013 to 17th Aug 2013 and was held at two different venues, Jatiya Yuvak Sangha, Burrabazar and WBBA Court. The Goenkans played outstandingly well and reached up to the quarter finals after defeating teams like Barisha AC and Khaka Blues.
The Siliguri District Team exhibited remarkable sportsmanship and was appreciated for their outstanding skills.
